Southstar exited his den. The bright sun light slowly seeping under the horizon. Making a striking sun set. He smiled lightly and stretched. A few NPC's walked by and said hello. Nothing major. The red tom sat down outside of his den entrance. Eager to meet a member.

"Hi Southstar!" Exclaimed Valentinegift as he walked towards his leader, taking a seat next to him with a smile on his raven colored maw. He wrapped his tail around his white paws, ready to start a conversation with the tomcat.

The leader turned his head to the medicine cat. A small smile came upon his face. "Hello. Almost forgot.. Could you check my throat? It's been feeling terrible for a few hours.." he rumbled. Valentine was a skilled medic. He'd know.

"Have you been coughing at all? You might need lavender, maybe a bit of tansy. But if it doesn't hurt too bad, you probably just need some honey." Valentine mewed, closing his eyes for a second to remember all the herbs, then re-opened them happily. "Yeah, probably just honey if it doesn't hurt too bad."

The leader nodded. "It just hurts a little." he informed. When he went to make an alliance with DawnClan he sounded like he had swallowed bolts.

"Okay, I'll be right back." Valentine mewed before padding towards the medicine den. He grabbed a few honeycombs and returned back to where Southstar was sitting, and carefully placed them next to him. "These should make the pain go away, or at least calm it. Tell me if you need anything else herb-related."

"Thank you son.." he mewed. Then lapped up the honey. He already felt the cooling sensation in his throat. "Do you miss Rainstar?" the leader asked. Their previous leader was kind.

"He was a very great leader to our clan. But I was pretty young when he was leader, and cannot remember too much. But I can't not miss our last leader, he was very generous." Valentine mewed happily, trying to remember Rainstar as best as he could. There wasn't too much of a big picture when it came to mind, but it still was there.

Southstar nodded. Their leader hadn't been around much. When he died the clan accepted easily. Southbullet promised to fill and even raise the paw steps Rainstar took. The red tom nodded. "Mmm..."

Southstar raised imaginary brows. Pretty good question. The leader studied the question for a moment. "Shoot.. I love it. I can help my clan.. Make it strong." his rich Texan accent rushing in.

"Yes, but doesn't it also frighten you a bit? You may be able to help your clan, but one wrong move and you could endanger the whole clan and be known as a bad influence. But yes, you do get to help your clan, make it strong." Valentine mewed, his whiskers twitching.

He nodded. Valentine would always have his back. Hopefully his new deputy would too. His ears flicked up at the question. No one had asked that in a while. "Good." he answered with a grin. "How 'bout you?"
